Since graduating from the massage therapy program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2009, Rachelle has worked in a variety of spaces including physiotherapy clinics, chiropractic clinics, multi-disciplinary clinics, and spas. The diversity in work environments over the years, has offered her a range of experiences which in turn have allowed her to gain the knowledge and skills to adapt her treatments to the individual needs of each patient.
In practice, her primary focus is on individual treatment design, based on the personal needs and goals of the patient, whether they are seeking massage treatment for an acute injury, a chronic condition, injury prevention, functional movement, pain reduction, and/or general wellness.
Rachelle’s massage style can be described as deep and intuitive, while remaining within the context of relaxation. Her treatments incorporate general Swedish techniques, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, joint mobilizations, and passive stretching.
It is also her goal to educate and guide each patient on how they can maintain optimal function between treatments by offering them a healthy dose of self-care advice, and/or referring them to another professional, who may be able to supplement their treatment goals.
Outside of her practice, Rachelle is passionate about leading an active and healthy lifestyle, and can be found stretching out on her yoga mat, hiking the beautiful landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, cycling, and running. Her most recent interest is attempting to master the art of baking sourdough bread.
